Nothing special, just a stump. We were out for a drive and I was trying to take some pictures of some swans that would not swim where I wanted them to... darn birds (are swan birds?) any who... I took a picture of a stump. You will get to see my uncooperative swan shots here in the next few days.
Too bad the swans wouldn't cooperate, but it's still a nice shot!
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a great shot! Looks like you got snow like we did today!

The vignette/burning around the edges really allows that stump to stand out amid all the other stuff. nice job.
ReplyDeleteI love the somber, silent feel of this. I bet it'd rock in b/w, too.
ReplyDeleteNice contrasts with the texture of the bark and the smooth snow and the dark and lights.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter shot you captured. Sorry the swans were not cooperating
ReplyDeleteLove this photo! I guess the swans are like my toddler...never doing what I want him to.
ReplyDeleteI like it allot. TFS
ReplyDeleteLove the blue in the background. It really makes the snow crisper.
ReplyDeleteAww, too bad about the swans! But I really like this shot, it really appeals to me for some reason, I just can't put my finger on why. It is so crisp and I can almost smell the snow! :)
ReplyDeletewell i just LOVE the stump shot! it's really COOL!

ReplyDeleteLOL about the uncooperative swans. You sure made lemonade out of lemons though, lovely shot!
ReplyDeleteWow these look wonderful. you have a fantastic blog with great photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and light in this shot! Looks like a cold buut beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteI like all the shadows. The "are swans birds?" cracked me up. :-D
ReplyDeleteI really love all of the branches coming in from the side. It gives the photo a really neat feeling to it.
ReplyDeleteSo swans are just as bad subjects as my kids? Good to know...
ReplyDeleteAnd that stump belongs in a frame.
