Camping...

Well I have been MIA lately. Between work, fixing computers and doing photo shoots I have had 0 time for my POTD. This past weekend we were able to sneak away camping for the first time of the year. We live in this great state and ended up getting 4” of snow at the campground on Sat. We did get the deck built on Friday but we got soaked with all the rain we had, but we survived! The boys pretty much lived in their snow pants all weekend long.

Yard Work...

We went to grandmas last night and Cameron decided that he needed to do a little yard work. He started out leaf blowing and then went to trying to cut down a tree :) I can not wait until he is a little older to start mowing.

Oh A Little Pug

Sorry guys, I have been slacking with my POTD lately.

Yesterday we had a session with two pugs, a black and fawn one. I was really stressing over getting the lighting right with the black pug. We really over shot just to be on the safe side. I feel we got some really great pictures, we have not had a chance to go through all of them but I saw this one and had to post it (it is SOOC). Poor Olivia was getting tired :)

Ahhh what is a guy to do??? My night is shot! j/k but it is a bummer since I have not been on all day.

Seven Days

Well we only have seven days left until we will traveling by this guy on the way to the campground. Yes next Friday is the opening weekend for camping! We are so pumped and can not wait to get other to do some relaxing. I love the way we “camp” they have a pool and hot tub along with so many other fun things for the kids to do. It is so nice to get away on the weekends

25 ways to tell if you have finally grown up

Here are some of my random thoughts on these, see if you can keep up with my randomness :) Jason's random thoughts are in RED!

1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them. Hmmm that's not me, we have no plants and NEVER smoked anything....
2. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge. There should always be a ratio of Beer to food just don't know what it is.
4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed. I have always gone to bed early, maybe I am just a geek... I hate staying up late.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator. Ahhh I live in a small town no elevators
6. You watch the Weather Channel. I LOVE the weather, you have to watch it living in MN you need to know what winter coat to wear! 
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up". Hey I am cool, I still use those words, maybe not in the right context but they are in my vocabulary. 
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. True that!
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up." But when you gain weight and that is all you have, it works for me.
10. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next
door won't turn down the stereo. Damn kids!
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you. I am ok with it but my wife is a little mortified by relatives telling sex jokes.
12. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore. Never knew in the first place, but their border fries RULE.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up. It is the economy right?
14. You feed your dog/cat Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers. Hmmm McDonald's I could really go for a quarter pounder and cheese right now...
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt. I love sleeping on the couch, our bed sucks!
16. You take naps from noon to 6 PM. Sleep is good for the body!
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one. It is the economy right?
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach. That sounds like a great breakfast! 
19. If you're a girl, you go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff." What is with this wine stuff, who drinks wine now days?
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to..." replaces "I'm never
going to drink that much again." I made one mistake at a company Christmas party and NO one will ever let me forget it, sorry guys the company does not have parties anymore.
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work. If you call "peaing" work sure!
24. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate her instead of asking "Oh S*$#! What Happened!?!?!?! LOL
25. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old butt.

Corn....

Well today was NUTS and tonight we were busy setting up for a garage sale that we are having this weekend so I did not shoot today at all. I was just going through some pictures of last summer and came across these and they made me laugh. Cameron LOVES corn!

A Little Train Action

We were on the way to Steve and Shari’s house and we got stopped at our intersection because a train was stopped. After waiting a while I ended up going a different direction. Here is what I found at the other end of the train. It was pretty windy here today and one of the crossing arms snapped. I grabbed my camera and got some shots of the train going through the arms… Man I wish the train could have been on the other side of the tracks, the lighting would have been so much better :o)

Today was nuts, needless to say I did not get to get out and shoot today. This is a picture from a week ago Saturday…. Now there is nothing but SNOW everywhere you look. This week is suppose to be in the 50’s and 60’s all week so I am praying it will be gone by the end of the week. We have 10 days until our first camping outing… I think it could be interesting :)

Baby Jaden

This is the little guy we got to shoot this weekend. He is only 4 days old! It was so fun to photograph him. He was like a little gumby baby, we could position however we wanted and he stayed that way. These are just a few I grabbed we have not even started to edit all the pics.

Let me know what you think of the colors, I just calibrated my monitor with the Spyder 2 Express. This was my first time calibrating so I am second guessing EVERYTHING right now as far as color goes.

April Snow Storm

Well I think about the best part of the storm was we were able to get out and shoot a little. The boys had a blast playing on the play set and shoveling. This getting 14+” of snow in April is for the birds! I can not believe how white that snow is when you are shooting it was very challenging.

Little Jaden

Meet little Jaden, he is a little guy we will get to shoot in our studio this weekend. We did some maternity shots when Brenna was pregant. After she had the little guy we ran up to the hospital and shot a few quick. Here are a few from the hospital. We are pretty excited to do the studio ones this weekend.

We Are Potty Trained!

Well we are 100% out of the whole diaper and pull-up world. We had to do some bribing but I think it worked. We told Keats that when he stayed dry drying the day and at night for a long period of time (several weeks) we would get him a four wheeler. Well it happens that his birthday is this week as well so we did a 2 for 1 deal :o). So little man has been driving that thing all over the place and I have been calling him “Evil Keanton” he loves to take his hands off the handle bars and do the no hand thing! At least he knows he needs to wear his helmet when he rides it.

Congrats buddy on being out of diapers and no accidents (lets stay that way)!

I got to be part of something really cool today. A lady on twopeas did a post on doing something good for someone. She had a lady in her photography club that did not have a camera and is such a neat person and through tough times just can not get the break to get one. Jess did the ground work and found a used Rebel XT and kit lens but was short a little cash and asked for some help. The people on twopeas pulled together and donated some money, memory cards, batteries towards that camera. Last I had check Jess exceeded the goal and was able to get a 50mm 1.8 lens, memory card and extra battery. I have donated to things in the past but it really did not mean much to me at the time. I did not donate much but it feels really good to see first hand what a little thing I can do can make such an impact on another. I really appreciate that there are great people in this world that are willing to step outside of their box and try to help people and give them a break. The folks on twopeas are awesome! Then on top of all of this other members stepped up and are donating to the people that are helping this other gal out by donating cards, and a wrap! WOW

Stand Still

We went to park a few days ago and we were playing around with the camera. We happened to catch Cameron in a spot were he could not get away from the camera so we got a good shot. The shot SOOC was “OK” but I think playing with it and doing some fun PP work it turned out much better.

Well the Pirate Party is over! What a blast we had with fun games and treasures hunts. I have not had a chance to sort through all the pictures but here is wht I saw at first glance. I will be sure to post more. Thanks to all that came.

Shoes

I did not get a chance to edit the pics I took today so I will post one of my other favorites. Tomorrow is our little guys Pirate Party, I am sure some good pics will come out of that!

These are my 5 years old shoes. They are fleece lined Converse. DW got these for a steal of a deal $7… the reason being is the logo is on the wrong side of the shoe. I wish they made these in adult sizes!

What A Great Day!

Man it was nice out. I think it reached 60 here today. The boys and I made it to the park tonight for a bit. Keats has no fear, he shot of towards the climbing wall and kept going. This is what spring is all about!

Ok I lied when I said I did not get time to get out and shoot yesterday (I did my potd a little ahead of time). I managed to swing by this little park on my way home last night. These picture are far from perfect I was at the wrong f/stop for the depth of field but I thought some of these were kind of cool. This is also my first time playing with textures, the first shot is pretty much sooc and the other two were little plays. Let me know what you think. Thanks
