Cake topper

I did not contribute much to this but I helped with printing and getting it all set for the top of the cake (if that counts). DW designed this for the pirate party we are having next weekend… I can't wait to see the cake.

Thanks for looking.

Boy's Weekend 2008

DW is out in Fargo visiting her best friend Anna for the weekend. So that means we get a “Boy’s Weekend”. We started it off with a trip to Fleet Farm and then ran across some cans of silly string! The goal was to let the two boys go at it but the Keaters got a little scared of the string. That is a lot of work to try and shoot silly string and take pics at the same time. Cam only hit my lens once with the red string lol…

Cam kept asking for what kind of “Man Food” are we going to have when mom is gone for the weekend. DW and I were a little confused at first but realized what he was talking about. Last summer just him and I went camping and we splurged a little (maybe a lot) and we knew mom was going to be gone this weekend and wanted to know what he could expect. So even though I am on a diet I did go by some good “Man Food” and the boys and I will break into that tonight before our sleep over in the living room with a movie and some pop corn. Does ice cream and pop corn go together ;)?

Marriage....

We went to a wedding for a friend of ours and they did not have a photog so we took some shots for them… I can tell you that we will NEVER do a wedding. I give all you wedding photogs all the credit in the world.

My wife and I have been married for almost 10 years, we got married before we were 21. Most of our friends were still in college and stuff when we got married. Now within the last few years all of our friends have met someone and fallen in love and got married as well.

Here is the part that really saddens me… we both started to think we did something wrong or smelt funny or something. ALL of our friends stopped calling us and hanging out with us. Well come to find out every couple in our core group except one is either getting a divorce, or going through one or talking about it. I am talking about 4 or 5 couples and a few on the edge. It hurts to see families go through this, I do not see what goes on behind closed doors but I ask myself why? What is the deal? I can not imagine life without my best friend. I know for several our friends their spouse has been there best friend as well for a long time. I know no one is perfect but I feel so bad for these families, I can not imagine what is going through their heads and hearts. We have been saying lots and lots of prayers for all of you. I don’t know what else to say… and to let them know that we always have an open door and I promise we will not take sides.

St. Francis

This is one of the many Catholic churches in the area. St. Francis church is where my special people in my lives including my fathers funeral have been at, it is the church I was confirmed at when I was 18. This church has been a big corner stone in my life. This church has a lot of character, I wish I had been able to capture it better.

Argh Matey

Keats was being goofy the other day so we pulled the camera out and took a few pics of him being a pirate. His third birthday is coming up and he is planning on having a pirate party… So I guess we are ready for that.

Biggest Loser

Well so much for the junk food. I am now the official captain of the “Paper Weights” which is one of the teams for the “Biggest Loser”. The United Way is putting on a six week program to promote healthy living and a way to give back to the community. This year our team of six people weighed in at 1320 pounds. The next six weeks we will be watching what we eat and doing activities as a team to help lower our weight and live a healthier lifestyle. As many of you know I LOVE food so this might be somewhat of a challenge for me, I think I will start with NO MORE food on my blog.

Her are a few pics courtesy of our photographers at work (there were three photographers there so we were looking a ton of different directions)
Please be sure to check out the “Spotted Gallery” so we can continue to provider photographers for some of our community events (its all about web hits).

*** Yes, I know I am short but the lady next to me is really tall plus she had BIG heels on as well.

Sitting by The Pool

Well work was nuts today so I did not get a chance to take a break and go shoot. We did however get the chance to stay at the “Edge Water Park” in Duluth MN last month. This is my little nephew who was just sitting back and hanging out. He is so much fun...

Junior Photographer In The Making

Yesterday my wife and I made the Mr. Potato Head Bunny and snapped some shots in honor of Easter. A little while later I looked over and our 5 year old was over setting up some other potato heads and taking their pics just like us. He loves taking pictures, also yesterday grandma and grandpa stopped by and he had to do a group shot and individuals… He is going to be an awesome helper in a few years. I even got to give him a little tour on Lightroom yesterday on how to import his photos so he can see what he is shooting. Good work big guy!

Easter Eggs... and A Bunny

This week we were able to color a few eggs… This year the boys had a little more fun with it than last year. I think as they get older they will enjoy it more. It is pretty scary letting a 2 year next to all that colored vinegar lol but they sure had fun!

Big Bobber

I had to do a little traveling for work today and got to visit the lovely town of Pequot Lakes Minnesota. They have one of the coolest water towers. Some refer to it as Paul Bunyan’s Bobber or the World’s Largest Fishing Bobber. In 1987 it was converted from a regular old water tower and turned into a bobber. Then in mid 2000 the city retired the bobber after a new one was built. I remember when the new one was built they were talking about turning the old one into a golf ball on top of a golf tee :) I am glad they left it alone it is a pretty neat landmark.

Nice Surprise

As most of you know I LOVE Coke! Well of course I need to collect the rewards points with all that Coke I drink. I came into work this morning and there was a pile of caps on my desk from a co-worker. That totally made my morning today how cool is that.

Thank You Kristine!

**** Edit **** I tried playing with some of the levels like someone suggested...

A Night Away

We had a great opportunity to go stay at a hotel a short distances for our house (sounds crazzy to saty at a hotel less than and hour from your house). It was kind of a spur of the moment deal just for the afternoon and evening. I brought the boys there in the afternoon and told them we were having a “manly night” while mom stayed home and worked. We did a bunch of swimming and ate some really good pizza. Mom did come about 6:30 and stayed the night with us (we had this planned all along). My awesome boss let me come into work a little later so I could stay and play in the pool and hang with the family. We had a great time and can’t wait to do it again.

Peanut Butter and Pickles

Well I got to make supper a few nights ago (I am not a very good cook). I end up making one of my favorite meals, Peanut Butter and Pickle sandwiches. I must state for the record neither my wife or I are pregnant ;). I did try to add in some green “stuff “to balance out the unhealthy part of the Peanut Butter. I use to eat this all the time but for some reason forgot about it until I needed a last min. dinner idea. I think this might have to go back on the weekly menu…

Just Kicking Back

Keaton and I had a great day Saturday while mom and brother were gone. I was able to grab a few pics of him building a tower out of couch cushions and watching some TV.

St. Patricks Day Parade

WOW what a day. Today Darcy got to do some fun stuff with our oldest and went to Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat while I got to spend the day with the little guy Keaton. We started out the morning by dropping them off at the church to hop on the bus to the cities. Then Keats and I did a bunch of shopping. We had the opportunity to go to a local St. Patricks day parade. From the second we got out of the car Keaton started to cover his ears. He did not want the fire trucks to scare him. I do have to add in that we were there 30 minuets early so he spent a lot of time with his hands over his ears. Also what was pretty interesting was that Keaton our little guy that is scared of cows and think they bite, saw a “moose” and had to go out and see him. He is the kind of kid that would typically not do that. He shot out of his chair and ran out to give him a high five. I could not believe he did that… We did about a million other things, I need a nap!

Happy St. Patricks Day early!

Some Shots

We had a chance to take a few pics of a 5 week old this week. Here are a few of them that we got, I am not extremely happy with them so far but I am hoping to be able to get some good keepers once I get through all of them. Her big sister had to poses for a few shots as well.

Brotherly Love

Oh these two. I was going through some pictures today and I came across these ones from last spring. Our oldest got a wheelbarrow because he wanted to help with the yard work. I don’t know what part of yard work is putting your little brother in it and pushing him around the yard.

I really wished I could have been able to go out and shot a little today but man it was a busy day.

PRIORITIES

I have this really cool picture frame on my desk at work. I have had this for years, but I truly believe this is so true. It is so easy in todays society to want to keep up with the “Jones” and over look what is really important. Here is what it says.

PRIORITIES
“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”

I just noticed the color is a little off... hmmm who knows what I messed up this time :)

What can I say?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words... I love this time of the year. The girl next store was selling these cookies and I realllly felt like I needed to support them (I really did not want the cookies :) j/k I love these cookies...
I bet most of you think all I do is eat!
